As a firm we can trace our ancestry back for well over 100 years. In those early days very few houses where sold as people did not move as much and many rented rather than owned. It did involve selling many rural properties, farms, smallholding and land and also vast quantities of sheep, cattle and pigs by Public Auction through livestock markets and seasonal sales in various villages throughout North Devon.
The heritage continues and although we no longer sell livestock we do sell many properties through the Auction system.
Why Auction?
Good question. AUCTION means ACTION. This long established method can be the quickest and most efficient way to buy or sell.
It takes the uncertainty out of selling and the waiting out of buying. Furthermore you can be assured that you are achieving THE BEST POSSIBLE PRICE WITHIN A FIXED TIMESCALE.
Although any property can be auctioned, it is important that only the right type of property with the right price guide goes to the Auction room. Fundamentally these are generally properties of a unique nature that might well require refurbishment, barns for conversion, buildings sites and land. However you can be assured that with our wealth of knowledge and experience that only the correct advice is given to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
We hold regular Auctions throughout the year, about every 6 to 8 weeks, and are entrusted by a variety of clients including the Church of England ( Diocese of Exeter ), the local Methodist circuit, Solicitors, LPA receivers and of course many private clients.
